Rahul Dravid has preferred Rajasthan Royals for the head coach and it has been learnt that Dravid has even turned down blank cheques from several IPL franchises for this reason. And while doing this, he showed loyalty towards Rajasthan Royals, which is pointing towards the incident of 2011 when Anil Kumble (working as mentor of team Rajasthan Royals in 2011) also did not trust him.

In 2008, Rahul Dravid joined Royal Challengers Bangalore with full hard work and dedication. But he could not do much for RCB. Dravid could only contribute 371 runs in IPL 2008, 271 runs in IPL 2009 and 256 runs in 2010. But considering the time, this performance could not be called a bad performance at that time.

Because it was clear that at the age of 37-38 t20 was not his game as the times of cricket had changed so much and he was struggling to cope with the increasing demands of the t20 format.

Rahul Dravid

Rahul Dravid faced a setback from Royal Challengers Bangalore in IPL 2011

When Rahul Dravid could not give his best performance in the year 2008, 2009 and 2010, then during the auction of IPL 2011, RCB team rejected Dravid. At that time Anil Kumble had appointed RCB as the mentor of the team, but when Dravid’s name was announced, Royal Challenger Bangalore owner Vijay Mallya did not give any reaction and neither any reaction was given by mentor Anil Kumble.

Then Rajasthan Royals accepted Rahul Dravid and gave him a new home. Money did not matter for a great player like Dravid, because at that time his self-respect was at stake and in such a difficult time, Rajasthan Royals showed their faith in Dravid while the rest of the franchises did not even pay attention to Dravid

Then Dravid made a good start by scoring 343 runs in his very first season in IPL 2011. He announced his retirement from international cricket in the year 2012.  After announcing his retirement, Rahul Dravid captained Rajasthan Royals in the 2012 IPL and led from the front by scoring 462 runs.

Start of Rahul Dravid’s IPL career

Rahul Dravid started his career with Royal Challengers Bangalore in the year 2008. And after representing three seasons and due to poor performance, Royal Challengers Bangalore team separated him and since then Dravid has formed a relationship with Rajasthan Royals. A bond that is gradually becoming stronger. Dravid (former captain), who was the head coach of the Indian team that recently won the T20 World Cup 2024 trophy, has returned for his next coaching assignment in about 2 months from his grand farewell.

Now Rahul Dravid will be seen as the head coach with Rajasthan Royals in IPL 2025, who first played for Rajasthan Royals, then captained and then also mentored. Due to the memories of the year 2011, Dravid jokingly pretended to ask for job recommendations from the media.  Somewhere he had decided in his mind and after retiring from T20 format in 2012 and from all formats of cricket in 2013, Rahul Dravid tried his luck in broadcasting and also got success. But his real identity was as a coach.

Therefore, he thought it appropriate to play this role and today for this reason he has made his name in history by winning the T20 World Cup 2024. He helped shape the future of Indian cricket, he worked with India’s Under-19 and India A teams in a very successful tenure and finally gave the country the glory it had been waiting for so long, the most important of which is the T20 World Cup 2024 World Cup.

Rahul Dravid – Rajasthan Royals IPL spot fixing case of 2013

In 2013, Rahul Dravid was involved in the IPL spot-fixing case while playing for Rajasthan Royals in which three cricketers (S. Sreesanth, Ankit Chavan, and Ajit Chandila) were banned for life. But Rahul Dravid did not waver and scored 471 runs with 4 half-centuries which helped Rajasthan Royals reach the playoffs for the first time in 4 years but unfortunately they lost to Mumbai Indians at Eden Gardens.

But Dravid was in form at that time and taking advantage of his form, he led the team to the Champions League final in 2013 before retiring. And then in 2014 he also served as the mentor of Rajasthan Royals.  And also faced the infamous meltdown of that time, banging his hat in anger when Mumbai Indians chased down 190 runs within 15 overs to beat Rajasthan Royals.

Rahul Dravid ends his tenure as India’s head coach in June 2024, when the team won its second World Cup. Rahul Dravid is set to take his next step at Rajasthan Royals. This information was given in Star Sports a few days ago. Rajasthan Royals franchise has informed in a statement that former Rajasthan Royals captain and
