Both Afghanistan and South Africa are on a tour of UAE from 18 September to 22 September 2024 for their three ODI series. Where a series of three ODI matches was to be played between these two teams at Sharjah Cricket Stadium UAE. Out of which two matches of this ODI series have been played.

After losing their first match, South Africa made two big changes in the team in their second match. As the first change, they brought Temba Bavuma in place of their young batsman Jason Smith. And Temba Bavuma was given the captaincy of the team in place of Aiden Markram, who was the captain of the first ODI match. And South Africa made their second change in their bowling camp. Where they brought young leg break spinner bowler Nqaba Peter in place of Andile Phehlukwayo in this 2nd ODI Afghanistan vs South Africa.

 In both the matches played between Afghanistan and South Africa, Afghanistan has won by a big margin over South Africa. Afghanistan lost only four wickets while chasing the 106 runs scored by South Africa in their first ODI match. And won by 6 wickets. In their 2nd ODI Afghanistan vs South Africa match, Afghanistan won the toss and batted first and scored 311 runs losing only four wickets. And then South Africa came out to chase and was all out after scoring just 134 runs in 34.2 overs.
